When ADR receives your tape(s) for data recovery, your customer service representative will notify you that your media has arrived and gather any additional information that might aid the engineer in recovering data from your tape or other media. Then your tapes are sent to the lab where an engineer will begin the evaluation process. Our tape recovery service specialists will thoroughly examine your tape for damage before any attempt is made to read the data.

Carefully copying your tape cartridge or cartridges before beginning the recovery process is critical, especially if the tape is worn or damaged. Our tape recovery specialists will thoroughly examine your tape before reading it. At this point a low-level read will be performed to create a working copy of your data. In most cases recovery will not be performed on your original media. This process helps insure that the original data is not compromised and the maximum recoverability is achieved.

When the evaluation is complete, your customer service representative will provide you with a list of recoverable files if data recovery is possible as well as a firm price quote. Your authorization is required before the recovery process can be completed.

With tape recoveries, there are 2 different service options you can choose from. There is a nominal setup cost for tapes that are sent for recovery or conversion. These vary depending on the type of tape and situation.

Priority: 3 to 5 business days
Standard: 7 to 10 business days

If you require special weekend service please contact us so that we can make arrangements for a tape recovery technician to receive and recover your media. If the files you need are unrecoverable, you will only pay the initial set up/evaluation charges and return shipping costs.
